What kind of games can I play with Choice Story Engine?
Choice Story Engine is designed for choice-driven, branching story adventures. Think choose-your-own-adventure books meets stat-based RPG gameplay. You'll make meaningful choices that affect your stats, currencies, and available paths. Stories include multiple endings, death scenes, achievements, and replay incentives. Genres can range from fantasy and sci-fi to mystery, horror, romance, and beyond—as long as the story involves branching chapters and player choices with consequences.
Will I need to be online to play?
No! Choice Story Engine is offline-aware. You can play through entire stories without an internet connection. The app protects your progress with auto-saves and checkpoints that work offline. If your connectivity drops mid-session, you'll see banners and popups alerting you, but your saves and progress remain safe. You can continue playing seamlessly.
Which languages will be available?
Choice Story Engine supports five languages with instant switching: English, German (Deutsch), French (Français), Spanish (Español), and Italian (Italiano). Both the interface and story content switch immediately when you select a language—no reloads or downloads required. This makes it great for language learners or multilingual players.
Will there be a lot of stories to choose from?
Honestly, we're starting small. The initial release includes a single bundled story to showcase the engine's capabilities. However, the platform is built to support importing additional stories from JSON or ZIP bundles. As we grow, we plan to expand the catalog with new genres, difficulty levels, and narrative styles. Your feedback from the waitlist will help us prioritize what stories to create or curate next.
Is it free or paid? Will there be ads?
We're still finalizing the business model. Currently, payments and ad monetization are running in simulated/test mode—real billing and receipt verification aren't integrated yet. We're exploring options like a free tier with optional ads, a premium tier that removes ads and unlocks all chapters instantly, and in-game currency that can be earned or purchased. Can I share my progress or achievements?
Yes! After completing chapters with standout performances, you'll see share prompts that let you show off your medals, scorecards, and achievements. The exact sharing mechanisms (social media, screenshots, etc.) are part of what we're refining before launch.
What platforms will Choice Story Engine be available on?

Multi-Language Format
The newer multi-file, multi-language export format is recently added and hasn't been battle-tested at scale yet. We're refining it to ensure smooth imports and seamless language switching across all stories.

Achievement conditions are currently limited to chapter completions, stat/score thresholds, choice counts, and specific flags. We're exploring more creative achievement types based on player feedback.
